The past few weeks at school I got to help out in the art classroom. My friend was teaching a class on optical color mixing, a style of art that takes advantage of the way the eye perceives color. Up close you can see separate colors, but as you distance yourself from the image, colors that are side by side appear to mix and form new colors. We had our students use these oil pastels to create their images:
Because it’s no fun just sitting around while the students were hard at work on their art, I decided to join them. I used these 10 colors to make my drawing:

Thanks to another snow day today I was able to finish my cow. Now I just need to find a place in the apartment to hang her up!
